is my cat in pain?

I have a 16 yr old spayed cat who is now deaf and has detached retinas from hypertension. She is hyperthyroid,on chronic prednisone, antibiotics to reduce vomiting and diarrhea with her sensitive stomach. She wanders around the house bumping into things but still eats well and seeks me out for comfort. But she meows alot sometimes with a long, deep, wailing type cry..I don't know if she could be in pain or just wanting me for something. What does the deep, soulful wails mean?

Answer fro Kate
Hi poor old cat thank goodness she had you to look after her.

This crying I think is more than likely due to her age and disabilities. Please see this page for more information
