JellyBean the Black Cat

by Angel

I once read in some true story, that at one shelter they started naming black cats Jellybean to get people to notice them. I started doing that at the shelter I help at, and it really works! I wanted to share this to inspire everyone who has a black cat at their shelter, if you want to get them noticed, name them a spunky name like Jellybean!

Great idea
by: Liv

I purposely went out to adopt black cats as I heard they were the hardest to place. My two are so lovely and funny, the idea that no-one would want them because they weren't a 'pretty' colour is really sad.

Jellybean

I volunteer for a cat rescue oraganization in my town and on time they had to kittens. A tabby and a pure black kitten. The tabby already had a name, Skittle. I remember reading this a couple days earlier and thought, hey, I should name it Jellybean. Many people walked by their cage saying what a great name it was, and after an hour someone came by and wanted to adopt Jellybean! I was so happy, and they felt bad for Skittle, so they adopted him too! Thanks for helping my little furry friend get adopted!
