kitten eating adult food

My 2 year old cat Bootsie eats IAms for adult cats. I bought the kitten Iams, but the kitten keeps eating Bootsie's adult Iams cat food. there is nothing I can do about it. Is this ok for our little kitten? Our kitten is about 8 weeks old I am guessing.

Hi
There is no harm in it. It is recommended that kittens eat specially formulated kitten food as it is nutritionally balanced for optimum kitten health , it is also more easily digestible to the kittens tummy.

You may fine that your kitten could get a tummy upset with the adult cat food but this varies from kitten to kitten.

try to not let him eat too much of the adult cat food, perhaps remove any leftover food before the kitten gets a chance to eat it and keep them out while your adult cat is eating.

best wishes kate
