Kitten Flower Losing Teeth and Appetite

My four month old cat lost her first tiny tooth up top near the right incisor. She used to have six tiny teeth and now she has only five. She has lost some weight and won't eat. Everytime she goes near to eat she tries a bite and then makes a gagging sound like she wants to vomit. Nothing comes up of course and she has no loose stool or vomiting. She won't drink water hardly either and she goes to sleep practically all day. Is this normal?

Hi
It is normal for kittens to loose their baby teeth but it may be that your cats gum is sore and this is causing her difficulty eating.

If she continues not eat for more than a few days i would contact your vet for some advice. There may be an infection or some other problem in her mouth. Don't leave it too long though as kittens can go down hill quickly.

hope she is better soon

best wishes Kate
