Kitten has black on chin and won't eat

kitten 8 months - black dirt like stuff under chin - tried to brush out - next day dark black "lesion type" scales - cat salivating, subdued and wont eat or drink???

PLEASE HELP. He is an indoor cat so poisoning or fleas not possible??

Oh my goodness this does sound strange. My first thought is that they must have gotten to something poisonous. Are you sure they have not got to some chemical or plant in the home that could have caused the wound?

To be honest the best option is to seek treatment from a vet as soon as possible especially as they are not eating or drinking. This sounds so strange I would not like to take any risks in waiting just in case.
