kitten sucks my setee

Why is it my kitten sucks a certain area on my settee? which then she falls asleep, is it some kind of soother?

yes it could be something similar to sucking on her mothers nipples. It may also have something to do with her teeth coming through and feeling the need to chew or suck on something.

i must admit I don't think it is very common but is certainly nor unusual.

I wouldn't overly worry and i'm sure it is something she will grow out of eventually, if your sofa can take it is another thing though :)

Just to mention there is a condition known as pica which some cats suffer from whereby they eat non food stuffs. Its not common and is probably not the case here, i thought i would just mention it for your information. there is more information about this here
