kitten with swollen behind and diarrhea

i got my kitten a week ago and there weren't any problems she was litter box trained and everything was fine. a day ago she started having diarrhea. no big deal though really until it started oozing from her butt when she would be laying around the house. this being a problem we took her food away for a day and gave her water in case she got dehydrated. now i checked her and it looks like her butt is protruding out of her body and is slightly red. what should i do

yes diarrhea in kittens can be rather nasty. You have done all the right things so far. But now i think it is time to get her to see a vet. It sounds like her behind is swollen and may be infected too.

the vet will also make sure she is not dehydrating too and is is better placed to advise you about her diet as she is so young. He will also check her over for any signs of other possible problems , such as worms and or fleas.
