lazy cat

I have a 1 year old siamese cat, who is normally verry active but has suddenly become very lazy, she hides under my bed and sleeps all day when she would normally want to be outside playing. Now she just lays around and sleeps all the time. She still eats and drinks. Any clues?

hi well lethargy in cats can be caused by so many different illnesses ranging from a simple 24 hour virus to diabetes or even heart conditions. I do not want to to alarm you and indeed there may be nothing to seriously worry about.

but I always tell people that whenever their cats behaviour changes dramatically like this that it is important to have them checked at the vets for any underlining illnesses. Sometimes only blood work can diagnose the real cause.

best wishes Kate
