Why does my cat kick her litter tray all over the floor she practically empty's the whole

lot out and this is only when Im out of the house plz help?

well she is probably just trying to cover up her mess, unfortunately some cats can be over zealous with this and as you say kick it all out.

the best option for this is to buy a litter tray with a top, this helps to reduce the problem i find.

My cat is one of the over zealous ones who seem to get a kick out of pawing litter all over the floor!! Since I've had her, she's always had a hooded tray but unfortunately this doesn't stop her flinging it out of the tray and onto the floor! I even have a special mat on the outside which is supposed to catch any litter coming off her paws as she leaves but I still find it all over the place! If I don't clear the poo out of the tray immediately, she'll just keep on going back to it and pawing it!!!

Yes, good advice. I have six cats and one likes to fling litter everywhere. All my litter boxes are hooded. I work for a cats rescue and find this problem frequently in our shelters.
