my cat is 4 years and 5-6 months old male..he has started losing weight and he pooped in the bathtub and thats when i noticed blood in his stool.. he still eats.. im worried..do you know how much a vet would charge me for the tests they will do? estimated amount? im worried about him!!

yes I think your right your cat does need to see a vet urgently. Any blood in the feces should always be checked out sooner rather than later.

As to how much the vets will cost, they vary from vets to vets. Your best bet is to telephone them and ask how much the initial consultation is at your vets and then one you see him he will be able to tell you in advance of the costs involved and then it is up to you whether or not you go ahead. if your vet is any good he will give you all the options and information up front.

the best thing you can do is to at least get your cat seen and then you know what you are dealing with.

lets hope it is nothing serious and that can be treated easily.

I wish you both all the best

Kate
