i have had a cat that is 2 years old for 6 months. I have two 5 pound dogs. the cat attacks them and bites them on the stomach. I am afraid he will hurt them he has drawn blood on both of my dogs. He has also biten me on the legs and arms. he has had his front claws removed . is there anyway to deal with this or am I going to have to give the cat up.

Hi well unless this cat is used to dogs from when it was first born then its behavior is entirely normal.

I don't know how you introduced the cat to the dogs in the first place but there is a method which is designed to build confidence in both the cat and the dogs. It could be an idea to give this a go now, it does take some time and effort on your part it may help them to settle down a little.

the process is described here (it is the same process for dogs as well as cats)

However there are no guarantees and cats and dogs traditionally are enemies and it may just be that in this case the cat is just not happy living with dogs. Often when you rehome a cat from an animal shelter they will often tell you if the cat is happy or not to live with other animals, that is why I usually recommend getting a cat
from a shelter.

It may be that you will have to consider rehoming your cat if she simply is not happy with the dogs.

best wishes Kate
