My cat has a "bald" spot and discolored skin.

My cat has a bald spot that has seemed to expand and she just used to hiss claw and bite me when I touched it. I touched it to figure out what it was but recently she kind of bites me but more of little nibble but if I tell her not to do that she will bury her head and bite whatever is there and eat it al

ost like she is clenching her teeth. She also twitches slightly when I touch the area. We also have a new kitten if that helps

Hi
well you haven't mentioned where the bald spot is. If it is around the neck area or her behind then i would say that it could be due to fleas or the flea treatment you are using (flea collars in particular are very bad and can cause fur loss ).

Of course there are other causes such as skin allergies. Please see this page for more information on skin and fur issues

To be honest with you you really do need to take her to the vets so that they can take a close look at the area and see if there is anything they can prescribe to help her. it may be painful or at the very least uncomfortable for her at the moment.

i hope she is better soon

best wishes Kate
