my cat is biting me while I sleep

My cat Max is 9 years old. For the past 2 years he has been biting me when I sleep waking me up. Why would he start doing this?

Answer by KAte
He is trying to wake you up. My cat does this too every morning at 4am. the bites are only little nibbles but its enough to wake me and get up to let him out or feed him. i am used to it and don't really mind.

Your cat is trying to get your attention thats all, theres no malice in it, its just the only way he knows how to wake you up.

best wishes Kate
