My cat is shaking, is this normal?

Hi,

Last night my cat gave birth to four kittens. They all seem to be doing well and Mummy cat seems happy enough but i have noticed that she seems to be shivering a lot. I have put the heating on in the room for them to make sure they are not cold. But I am wondering if I should be worried?

Thanks

Caz.

Answer
Hi
well no she should not be shivering and as long as you are sure the room she is not cold that she is in I would telephone the vet for some advice.

i am not a vet and so have not come across this before, it may be a complication after birth which i have not seen before.

Hopefully by the time you see this reply all is well again and she has settled down with her kittens.

But as i say if in doubt and if the shivering continues a call to the vet would be a good idea.

best wishes Kate
