My cat peed on me

How come my female cat who is 8months old and litter trainned peed in my lap?She is in heet at the time and is not her self is that why she peed on me cuz it was really nasty...yuck. Please help me its the first time she has ever done this. What should i do if she continues?

Well yes it could be because she is in heat. Cats use their urine as scent markers and during heat they feel the need to scent more often, even females.

Why she did it on you cannot be absolutely known however as she feels safe with you and knows your scent, cats will often want to add their scent to places they feel most secure. Its not them being nasty it is purely a cat instinct.

I would recommend that you should have her spayed sooner rather than later. This will help to stop this behavior as well as preventing pregnancy.
