My Cat won't chew her food.

Hi! I am Julia and I am twelve years old. My cat Malibu is 10 years old and I have recently noticed that when she eats her dry food she does not chew it. This issue has caused a decline in her weight. She just picks it up with her mouth and then somewhat inhales it. Is this normal, or is she getting old and her food is difficult for her to chew? What should I do to make eating for her more comfortable? Thank you!

Hi
well it could well be that your cat is having some problems with her teeth. It is important that you have your cats teeth checked regularly as they get older.

My advice would be to take her to the vets for a check up to see if there is a problem. It may be painful for her to chew.

best wishes kate
