Hi
I just wanted to know. I have two female cats one is going to have babies. I find lately that our other cat (SUGAR) is really nasty around her (JOSEY)is this because JOSEY is having kittens, because they always got along before.
thank you

Well it could be that your pregnant cats smell has changed and this has unsettled your other cat. They don’t like change very much and the hissing could be a sign of fear or stress because of the changes. It looks like aggression to us but it just their way of expressing their feelings.
There isn’t much you can do I’m afraid. If they start to fight you may have to keep them separated until after the kittens are born and then reintroduce them under supervision.
I’m sure your cats will get along again once everything has settled down again. But you will have to get the kittens neutered after 4 months or there could be other problems with territory etc.
Best wishes Kate
