My cats is skittish

I have had by cat for almost four years and he has always been loving.But today whenever i try to pet him, he is skittish. He will jump way up high in the air. What is wrong with him?

Sometimes this skittish behavior can be an indication of either a recent fright he has had which has made him nervous

or even a skin or parasite problem which can make them very jumpy. i had a cat like that which turned out she was allergic to flea bites and even though she was flea free if one jumped on her and bit her it would set off this allergy and made her very skittish indeed. So it is worth checking to see if she has any fleas etc.

if this behavior continues for a long period of time then a trip to your vets may be in order.
