my male cat

i am wondering WHY my male cat who has been fixed, is wanting his

bum rubbed --as though he were in heat, Like many cats like........
BUT, When we do this, he chews on his paws and eats the fur off,
PLEASE Help me & tell me why, if you know..........

Happens a few times a year, BUT this time it is lasting alot longer
and he is now Meowing for this in a demanding sort of way,

Hi Chewing of fur often is a sign of anxiety or distress so i am wondering if your cat suffers from blocked anal glads which may be causing his some discomfort.

Some cats are more prone to this and unfortunately the only treatment is from a vet.
