i have recently been given my grandmothers cat and i have noticed she is loosing alot of weight she is 18yrs old and she is also drinking alot she still is eating small amounts of food could you please help me as im worried.

My quick answer is to take her to the vets as oon as possible. She may have a thyroid or heart problem which may be able to be treated.

My own cat suffered with a thyroid problem and she became very thin but was eating and drinking lots. She was successfully treated and is fine now .
