why is my 2 year old cat sleeping a lot

well it depends what you mean by a lot. cats are renowned for their sleeping and as cats get older the amount of sleep they have often increases.

The only other reason a cat may suddenly sleep a lot is if they are feeling unwell and trying to fight off an infection like a cold etc. if there are any other symptoms then take him to the vet for an examination.
