my three month old cat is really lazy

do you think she might be pregnant? or what do you thin k the problem is?



she was very playful before and all she does now is sleep

help please!!!

Hi well at three months she is too young to be pregnant.
However whenever a cats behaviour changes dramatically like this i.e from being playful to not, it is often a sign of illness not laziness. A cat at this age would be full of energy, so any lethargy needs to be checked out urgently by a vet.

Kittens go through growth cycles. Sometimes they will be very playful and others they will sleep alot. Sleep is good for their brain and body development. Adult cats can sleep between 18-21 hrs a day and vets say kittens tend to need that much or more sleep. I have had many kittens and they play like crazy for days then sleep all day for a few days and only wake to eat, drink and use the litterbox. If it lasts more than a few days, or you have to use vigorous stimulation to wake your kitten then I would be concerned and take 'em to the vet. Also if your kitten is not eating, drinking or eliminating bowel/bladder then I would get to the vet ASAP.
