Hi
well to be honest I am not sure that there is much you can do. your male cat may just be wanting to play and if your female cat is not up for it them she will let him know. this is normal cat behaviour and to be honest we should not try and intervene as it could make things worse. i.e the male cat doesn't get the message to leave her alone.

Cat fights can sound terrible, but most of it is all show. It is not in the cats interest to get into a serious fight unless it is a life or death situation as they don't ant to risk injury.

nest time it happens, try and leave them to it. i know it may be hard but if your male cat has any sense at all he will get the message from her to back off. (if he does not then I am sorry to say that you may have to consider re-homeing one of them)

Make sure you give the cats plenty to keep them occupied in the home so that boredom does not take over. see this page for some ideas https://www.our-happy-cat.com/indoor-cats.html

best wishes Kate
