new cat trouble

hi we just brougt another cat into our home and she seems very scared...our regular cat dosent bother her at all, she hides all the time and when we bring her out to try to get her to eat she is sooo tense. she doesnt meow or hiss just sits there...the person we got her from said shes very skitish around children...any suggestions on helping her feel safe and welcome?

She needs to find her own feet and confidence in her own time. She has got to get used to new surroundings, smells, people etc.
