Hi,

My boyfriend and I just adopted a cat last Thursday. He is a 5 or so (the shelter wasn't sure of his age) Savannah cat. He is so sweet, but he tends to lick everything in sight. Now he has started throwing up white liquid (no food), and has been pretty lethargic. I left on Sunday, and I haven't been there to see his behavior. Do you think we should take him to the vet, or is this just nerves from the move?

Difficult to say really. the animal shelter you got him from should have given him a health check before they gave him to you. Telephone them and see if they have any records of him vomiting before.

It is possible that the move, different food etc could have upset him. It is also possible that he has a hairball (they often throw up white liquid before they manage to bring it up)

All i can say is to keep an eye on him and see if his symptoms improve or not. or course if they continue for more than 3 days or if he gets worse then yes a trip tot he vets may be in order.

best wishes kate
