Hi
Your new mothers behaviour is perfectly normal as she is being protective against her kittens.

Cats do not generally run away at the first sign of aggression from another cat. this is normal cat behaviour.

As the days and weeks go buy your female cat will settle down again as she becomes more confident with her kittens.

i would advise that you keep your other cats away from the kittens for at least the first week then give them short periods of supervised access which you can increase day by day. this will help to build confidence and bonds with them all.

best wishes Kate,
