Not sure what is going on with my cat

We have a cat that was given to us. She is not spayed and from what we were told she is about 9 months old. Today she started meowing a lot, following us around, arching her back, a clear liquid is coming from her vagina. What could it be. This is my first cat I have always had dogs.

well it is quite possible that she is in heat as her behavior would suggest this.

At 9 months old she is certainly old enough for this.

My advice is to have her spayed as soon as possible to prevent unwanted pregnancies and also help prevent disease. I have lots of information about all the benefits here
