One world

by Brennan
(Tracey Mills)

In the still night
you dance
playfully
you curl your tail
and waver
amid the bright
glows
of the stars.
your elegant face
is framed by poise
and grace
layered with soft fur.
emerald eyes inquire upwards
slanting down
like an exotic kind.
i follow you up
a well worn path
drawn with tigerlilys
and wheatgrass
you bounce along
eyes beckoning
me
forwards.
you turn
onto a wide span of gravel
the fiery sunset burning low
on your coal fur
shining on it
with such intensity
it flames
boils
and simmers
yellow streaks
prancing along
your tiger fur.
evergreens shroud
the path
as we convert
ourselves to a blackened path
infused by a now still
white
moon
beams of whiteness
darting and lunging
from the sky
like stringing arrows.
you shift your way among them
a glimpse,
or two
i catch
of you.
your inclined figure stops
stands
sits
and your head raises
proudly admonishing
the chittering squirrels
or the whhispering leaves.
i reach the cleft
that hangs
above reality
and humanity.
below,
cars flash their smiling headlights
and zip down the grey track.
above,
the stars shine with happiness
and the moon glows with enlightenment
upon the sacred grounds.
fall leaves billow underneath
us
red
yellow
orange,
the expanse
forges on
to enternity.
i rest
katie
sits on my lap
and we stare
out
both of us
together
our hearts
joining
and we watch
the stars
above.
