pain around tailbone in cats

My older tabby cat is sensitive to touch around the back area close to his tail and frequently wakes up all of a sudden licking the area.

hi sounds to me like he may have a flea or parasite issue. this area is a normal place for the t gather and bite him from time to time.

you could try treating him for fleas yourself or perhaps a better option is to have the area looked at by vet to make sure there are no other issues there as well.
