Peppy the Hero
My daughter and her cat "Breeze Marie" are currently living with me and my wonderful feline family.
This morning, my daughter fed the dog his morning can of dog food and dumped the open can in the trash and she left for work.
I was working online somewhat and then laid down to rid myself of a headache when all of a sudden my tuxedo "Peppy" came bouncing onto my bed meowing loudly and frantically.
Note: Peppy is a vocal boy but very calm and laid back at all times.
But this morning he was FRANTIC.
He bounced onto the bed, head butting me and nudging me violently and then jumped off the bed and ran to the living room still meowing loudly.
I thought to myself "thank goodness he is going to let me sleep now but nooooooooo.
Then he made his second bounce on the bed this time more frantic and wide eyed.
He is NEVER a biter but this time was nipping me on my arm and meowing loudly and then again, ran to the living room.
By this time, having an annoying headache already, I jumped up and went after him thinking I would put him into the spare bedroom until I woke up from resting but as I entered the living room I seen him walking in circles beside the coffee table and STILL meowing loudly.
As I got close to the coffee table I saw Breeze Marie laying on her side still like and she had her entire head stuck all the way down inside that dog food can and she was suffocating!!!!!
She had gotton into the trash bin sometime in the morning and tried to lick the inside of the dog food can and wedged her entire head inside and could not get it off and was almost unconscience from lack of air.
I frantically grabbed her and pulled the can off her head and she was limp.
I covered her mouth and nose with my own mouth and blew in puffs of air and she took in a deep breath and opened her eyes and stood up on wobbly legs at first but recovered quickly.
The whole time Peppy was right there watching closely and NOT making a sound.
He knew he had done his job and aroused me enough to get me to go to the aid of his feline friend "Breeze Marie" who would have died shortly , no doubt had I not removed that can from her head.

This Is breeze
Peppy was a rescue of mine 3 years ago in Michigan where I rescued him from a trash dumpster at 3 weeks of age. Some neighborhood children had tossed him into the dumpster and left him to die.
His story is located on this site under: Peppy the Dumpster Kitty
I have loved and adored this cat since the first day I laid my eyes on him 3 years ago but today he is my HERO as he did a deed that is beyond the call of duty in a cat.
Breeze Marie is alive and well because he would not give up on her and did not walk away as did the rest of the felines in the house.
Thank you my dear Peppy for your bravery and persistence in saving the life of sweet little Breeze Marie.
