please help my cat

My cat jellybean, is my very first cat ive had him for about 1 1/2 years but i suspect he is more like 3 or 4 years old, after being a fairly bulk cat, hes become very skinny (despite him eating) and constantly hacks, and drools excessively, i cant afford to take him to the vet but i would still like to know whats wrong with him to see what i can do, or if its affordable, i love him dearly and i am very concerned

Elizabeth what can I say. No one can diagnose the problem with your cat over the internet, its impossible to say anything for sure.

there are many many possible causes of his symptoms, and he needs to be examined by a vet to diagnose and treat the problem properly.

You say you love your cat dearly, then I'm afraid that you will have to find the money to take them to the vets, thats all part of the love. Try looking around in your area to see if there are any animal charities that can help.

I'm so sorry I was not able to give you the answer you were looking for, but in this case i think a vet is his best option.
