Hey I work in the rain forest of Guyana and have encountered both jaguar and puma (which we call deer tiger) I have a healthy respect for the power and speed of both of those animals especially the jaguar. Just yesterday a man was killed in Guyana by what was reported to be a jaguar, although it might have been a puma also. Where I work, we see lots of tracks and hear the growls etc. so we know it is the jaguar, a few of them around. Caution is the word here. They do occasionally attack humans.
