My family and i just moved back to town and my cat Boo got out and ran away for 2-3 weeks... My husband found him 1 morning taking kids to school he seen boo and just knew it was him. He brought Boo home and he woke me up and then me n Boo the cat went back to bed... The problem we are having is Boo is not coming to his name or and even acts like he don't know us.. We made sure it was Boo and asked the neighborhood if they owed and cat like boo and no one did. What do I do is he traumatized or something? Please Help Mother of 5

Hi
Well this is tricky, he may have gone a little wild since he has been out and so he has lost some of his domestication.

All I can suggest is that you go through the process of keeping him in for at least 4 weeks as if he was a new cat to the home. This should help him to settle himself back into family life.

this may be difficult as he will be sued to going out so you will have to make his inside world as stimulating and interesting as possible to make him want to stay at home. Please see this page for some suggestions https://www.our-happy-cat.com/indoor-cats.html

I hope he settles down soon

best wishes Kate
