Scout - Cat Name

Scout is a feral neighborhood cat. Black and white with a forlorn expression, Scoutie is always nearby waiting for a bite to eat. When I drive up to the curb after work, he parades up the sidewalk to let me know he's around and happy to see me. Too skittish to be petted, he lurks on the steps or in the bushes ready to pounce on his food. But he is #2 feral cat.

#1 cat is Minnie. She is a grey tabby who has adopted us. She is a good mouser and keeps an eye on things. She does not allow Scout to stay on the property, so he lives next door, where the little girls call him "Cookie". They like him, but their mom will not feed him.

Minnie allows Scout to eat after she has eaten. Scout is Scout because he is always scouting for a bite to eat!
