sick cat hisses when leg is touched

by Jeanie

My cat is "squalling" and if I touch his tummy or hind quarters he hisses. He can't sit , but instead hunches his back and squalls. He can lay down on his side for a short time with some comfort, but gets up and walks a short distance and then stops to squall again.

It's late at night we have a snow storm and it would be more than extreamly difficult to take him to the vet. please what can I do to help him

Hi sadly there is not much you can do until you can get hm to see a vet. Keep him quiet and let hm sleep in a warm quiet place. Make sure that fresh water is next to hm so that he can get to it easily.

In cases like this the less you fuss around him the better. Let him know you are there but do not try to pick him up etc as this may make his injury worse. All you can do is to get him to the vets as soon as you possibly can.

I hope he is Ok

Best wishes Kate
