Sick cat who has been bitten

by Delia

I have a 13 year old cat who seems to have been bitten by something, she has eye matting, draining, slobbering from mouth, eating very very little, drinking some, looks like she has lost quite a bit of weight. I am taking to vet in the morning, she has been like this for about 4 days two days of which my vet's office has been closed. Any advice for the evening?

Hi
Sounds nasty.

All I can tell you to do for your cat until you can get her to the vets is to keep her quiet and allow her time on her own to rest in a warm safe quiet environment. Make sure she has fresh water nearby and if she does not drink herself spoon a little water into her mouth to prevent dehydration which can happen quickly.

I hope it is nothing serious and that the vet will be able to put her right quickly.

best wishes Kate
