Sickness symptoms in cat

by Rebekah
(Pennsylvania)

Hi there. I came home from school this week to find my cat not acting like herself. She just lays around. Whenever you try to stand her up, she falls over. It seems like she is in pain when she walks. She has raspy sounding breathing. Her nose is cool but dry. Her breathing also seems a little quick. She is drooling also. I can't get her into a vet until Monday (hopefully!). What might be wrong with her and how can I help her?

Hi
i wouldn't like to say what could be wrong but she does sound very sick indeed. You really do need to get her to the vets on Monday. I'm hoping it is something like cat flu in which she needs to be left alone and in a quite warm room with plenty of fresh water near her. Dehydration is a real worry.

I hope the vet can help her soon

best wishes kate
