Since I got pregnant my cat wants lap

I have 2 cats; Fang (older) and Thor (younger and the snuggly one). Since I got pregnant, Thor has become VERY attached to me, as in, he ALWAYS wants to be in my lap/me holding him. This is becoming more difficult for me as my belly grows and I must admit, its a bit much...he is SO needy! What's going on?

I have heard of other cats doing this too, i think it is just to do with the fact that your scent is probably different and your cat is sensing that you perhaps need looking after or the scent may just be pleasant to the cat.
I dont think it is anything to worry about and you may just have to be a little more firm with your cat and put him on a cushion near you when he wants a lap.
