sleeping cat

My older cat (16 years) sleeps sitting up with his head and body against the couch. Is there a reason for this?

Umm cats can be odd sometimes, it may simply be that this is the most comfortable position for him. At 16 he may have some joint pain and perhaps this sitting position is the most comfortable for him.

Other than it may simply be one of those things and something he has gotten into a habit with.

As long as he he is eating and drinking etc and appears generally well and not in any discomfort i wouldn't worry too much. You may want to check with the vet next time you go and ask about possible arthritis etc but hopefully it is just your cat being him :)

I do have some information about cat arthritis for your information https://www.our-happy-cat.com/cat-arthritis.html

best wishes Kate
