smokie 24 yrs cant scratch

My cat smokie is about 24 years old. He still runs around but lately i see him trying to scratch his ears and neck and his legs just scratch the air, its like he cant reach his ears any more. He eats good and drinks lotts of water and poops ok. He also dont seem to hear me calling sometimes.

sadly it sounds like you are describing the symptoms associared with being old. It comes to us all, even our beloved cats.
Your cat is probably suffering from artritis making him stiff. please see my web page about cat arthritis here for more information

As for the deafness it is worth having your cat checked by a vet in case it is only a build up of wax in the ear.
