Spring Clean Time For Our Cats

Battered Cat Toy

Spring is finally here and summer is on the way and just like us humans it's also time for a spring clean for our cat's Byron and Shelley . But in their case rather than clean the house, it's time for them to go through all their toys played with during the winter months and winter bedding clothes too.

Byron and Shelley are too very energetic young male cats and they really hate the cold winter months when they don't want to go outside much and also there is not much to chase in the garden. So the winter months are the time when their toys really get a battering.

So now is the time to see which toys to throw out and which to keep. The cats favourite toys have been these large rat like toys bought from Ikea. But as you can see they have been well and truly killed, with stuffing often found all over the house. Time for a change so we go out tomorrow to buy them some replacements. We know how much our boys love a new toy, so we will see what we can get. I will update tomorrow to let you know what we buy.

Now is also the time to get rid of bedding which really is past it's best. I like to wash and reuse as much as I can but there does come a time when some bedding just can't be used again. So out goes the two very hair packed knitted blankets and in comes a rather attractive pink striped cover (only £1.50 from a charity shop) for Byron's favourite chair. In fact Shelley likes it too and is often seen sneaking onto the chair too.

So tomorrow is cat toy shopping day. We are thinking of getting some cat nip toys to try with the boys. Now they have gron up a bit we think they may enjoy it more than when they were kittens when it drove them a little too crazy. We'll see and keep you posted.
