stray cat behaving strangely after removal of a tick

I live on a farm and have several stray cats I feed. I removed two ticks from one of the males but, he is showing symptoms that I don't understand. He used to be quite aggressive, always wanting to be petted. Now he just lies around, is losing his hair around his front shoulder area, has several small sores that are not healing, he is spitting and hissing, and seems unusually fatigued. I think I got all of the tick but, can't be sure. Could he be getting lyme disease or worse rabies?

Hi
You need to take your cat to see a vet as soon as possible. the fact that he is still showing signs of ill health even though the ticks are gone does suggest that the ticks could have passed on Lyme disease.

I hope the vet can sort him out soon and that he is back to his usual self.
