STRAY CAT PROBLEM

by JEANNE-MARI
(SOUTH AFRICA)

We have two cats, Astrix and Milo. In our neighbourhood there is either stray cats or our neighbours cats (they dont wear name tags, but they seem well fed). These cats come into our house and ATTACK my babies. I have also caught them a few times eating my cats' food! Now it seems that they come into our house and make a mess in the spare bedroom (poo all over the place, either them or they are scaring my babies!) What can I do to keep them abay?

How do they get in? If doors and windows are kept open you may have to consider getting screens for them to stop these unwanted visitors. There is no other way to stop a cat roaming around your garden or house if the opportunity arises, it is a natural instinct to explore etc.

There are also cat repellent granules you can put on your garden but of course this will affect your cats too if they go out, plus these are not always effective.

No I'm afraid the only answer is to physically stop them getting into your house.

best wishes Kate
