Symptoms after declawing

Ok, I know everyone is against declawing but I had my cat done. I walked into the kitchen today and there was blood all over the window sill she sits on. I took her to the bathroom to find out exactly where the blood was coming from and it was from her paw. it did stop bleeding within a minute or two of watching her. Now she wont stop licking herself, she licks her paw and entire body continously. is this a normal reaction to getting declawed? The vet i go to is closed on Mondays I did try to call. Also her one paw pad where the bleeding came from is very pink

What can I say, I am against declawing and this kind of distress is just one of the reasons. Anyway it is done now, so lets not dwell.

the excessive licking is probably due to some discomfort and licking is a way to comfort themselves. So the licking is a completely normal reaction. Hopefully when you can get her to the vet he can do something for her to settle her down.
