The cat lady - MY CAT STORY

by riverlady469
(Wv.)

I have 6 cats all but 2 are adopted. Have had all for several years. Suddenly my 25 lb. long hair cat is refusing food for several days. Have bought special food to try to intice her to eat. If she does eat she throws up some food & hair balls. Still drinking water & is not using the litter box going on a towel. She is turning yellow in mouth & today her body.

You need to get your cat to the vets as soon as possible, she may have jaundice or cat equivalent, if her skin is turning yellow.

At the very least it sounds like she has hairballs too and this may need some attention too. The vet will be able to help there too if need be.

As you know long hair cats need grooming about two to three times a week to prevent hairballs from forming and becoming an issue.

However the yellow discolouration definitely need to be investigated by a vet.

hope she is better soon

best wishes Kate
