tick & flea control

I recently treated my 1 year old cat with on over the counter flea & tick control treament. Should he be shaking his back left paw when he is walkling or running around the house?

Over the counter flea and worm control remedies rarly work well i'm afraid. I know this from bitter experience i'm afraid and in the end i have to bite the bullet and pay for the flea control prescribed by the vet (this also works for worms).
Regarding the shaking of the back leg, this is a sure sign of irritaion probably from biting fleas i'm afraid.
