Tribute To Luckyduck

Luckyduck
They call me "Little Luckyduck"
I'm short and kind of round.
I wasn't in a pet store
or that nasty county pound.
I grew up on a concrete porch
No heat, No food, No love
I prayed someone would help me
someone that I could love.
For months I lived in horror
A neighborhood breeding machine
Nobody cared that I was scared
My owners was very mean.
I gave birth to some kittens.
Those babies was all mine.
Most of them died or froze to death.
It happened all the time.
For days I would be hungry.
No warm place to lay my head.
I thought life should be better.
I wished that I was dead.
One day I saw two ladys
coming close to my porch door.
Their eyes was filled with tears
as they seen my cold porch floor.
The lady told her daughter
"This simply will not do"
We have to rescue all these cats
its the right thing to do".
Her daughter too, was crying
we was a pityful site
She said "we simply cant have this"
"it truely isn't right".
My owner told them "Go Away"
For those are all MY cats.
The ladys said" we'll call the law"
and you do not want that!
My owner yelled "Just take them"
and get out of my yard.
The ladys put us in their car
and we sped away real hard.
They took us somewhere safe and warm
We got to see the Vet
One of my little babies died
It was to late for it.
My other babies found a home
I was so proud at heart
For they had lived a sad little life
It was hard for us to part.
I wondered what my fate would be
or how my days would end.
Adopting me with Feline Herpes
would take a special friend.
One day the lady told me
"Lucky,I surely promise you this"
No more chilly days or nights.
No more meals to miss.
I stayed with that dear lady.
I still live there today
She lept her promise to me.
She loves me more each day.
I use to think about my life
back when things was so bad.
But now I can say for sure
I am no longer sad.
I use to be so skinny
A sickly little puck
But now I'm fat and sassy
My name is Luckyduck.
