Tucker

Hi

Hi

Tucker is my miracle cat. To begin with, he was a canyon cat (kitten) about 3 months old when he literally inserted himself into my life. At that tender age he came into my home and wouldn't leave (not that I was really trying to get him to. I was just afraid someone was missing him, so I went around the neighborhood to see)
After 2 years we moved 1000 miles away, and on the very day we moved in, he was scared by a train running next to the house and he ran away. He had no idea where to come back to.
I searched diligently for 3 1/2 months way after friends and family told me to give up. I put out 240 flyers and searched every morning and every evening.
After such a long time being lost, I was scared he wouldn't be the same or even recognize me if I did find him.
I was at work when the call came. A lady said she had 2 flyers on her fridge. Tucker has a very unique tail it is very short with a great big knob on the end. I was lucky enough to have a picture that showed it prominently. The lady recognized his tail.
The people at work were great! They told me to go look so I did. It was too late and was dark so I had to wait til the next morning, but at least I knew what area he was in. Trouble was, I really needed to go to work the next morning which meant I had to wait until after work. It all worked out because I searched for 3 hours stopping to talk to many people who had seen him a lot over the previous month and had fed him even though he wouldn't let anyone get close to him.
Just as I was getting ready to leave an older lady came running out yelling that he was in her back yard.
I had many false sightings of him over the 3 1/2 months and I was kind of scared this was another, however I went to her back yard and by then the cat was hiding in some bushes. I called to him and he meowed. I fell to my knees and kept calling and sure enough he came out slowly...We have been SOOOOO HAPPY ever since.
He and Spencer are my life!!!!
This is also a lesson. IF YOU KNOW IN YOUR HEART that there is still a good chance your lost kitty is alive DON'T give up. If I had given up he would still be wandering around or worse.

LOST CATS
by: Joyce

this reminds me of a cat my youngest daughter had some 20 years ago...she called him Thomas and loved that cat so very much...he would get on her back and then just kind of wrap himself around her neck..they were inserable...one day he just disapperad and we lived in the country so we figured he was out "tom catting" around but days, weeks went by and no Thomas...he was like a tuxido cat in markings..she cried and cried and i tried to get another cat for her but she wasn't interested...oh,we had cats but Thomas was special...anyway to make a long story short about two years later in the early spring we were outside and heard a cat meowing...my daughter said thats Thomas...but i said no not after all this time...but she insisted it was and started calling him..suddenly this cat comes almost crawling in he had been in many fights it appeared...and was so thin...but their was no mistaken Thomas in his tuxido and the way he went straight to my daughter...he wrapped himself around her neck...and was so hungary..we took him to vet ...but he didn't live but about a week ...he found his way home so he could be by the one he loved and loved him most in the world...I have often thought that someone stole him as we lived by Wappapello Lake in Missouri and the gravel road was well traveled and some one just waned a cat....oh i'm sure he could have told some stories as your cat...

I am so glad you found your kitty...our animals mean so very much to us....thank you for sharing this...brought a very good memory back for me..showing that our cats, kitty, kittens can love us as we do them.....

Tucker is a Cat that survives
He is back with Candale and he thrives
He was scared by a train Now he's back home again
Thank heavens God gave him nine lives.
Cheers Mike.
