Unspayed female acting vicious

by Lauren

My female cat is almost a year old and in heat, she ALWAYS wants to be outside with this one male cat in my neighborhood. We have found her in the bush with him several times and she has yet to get pregnant. He has showed aggressive behavior and so has she, What are they doing if not mating?

Hi
well the whole mating process with cats is never straight forward. It is not unusual for the female cat to deflect any advances from a male cat over and over again even though they are actually interested. Also some male cats may be inexperienced with the process and so may not be doing it right as it were.

Also the actual mating process can be quite painful for both cats as the male cat has barbs on his penis and so they may not have properly mated yet.

If it is your intention for your female cat to have kittens then it will eventually happens i'm sure.

best wishes Kate
