Urgent Pregnant Cat Question?!

(California)

So a few months ago we rescued a cat from an abusive household. This cat is extremely shy and runs when someone comes near it but has been slowing warming up to us. There is also two other kittens in our household. The shy cat, target, had become an outside cat and one day we realized her belly was getting big and she was pregnant. We restricted her from going outside and waited for her to have kittens. Well our cat had one baby today...She ended up bringing it into the living today while the kids were watching TV, we looked to see if she had any others but couldn't find any. Her stomach still feels like there is babies inside so my question is what is going on? We have to set her by the one kitten she has had for her to pay attention to it, except when it cries really loud. I have had 3 other pregnant cats in the past and this has never happened. The cat has been meowing on and off almost every night for the past three days. But this is constant meowing from a cat that almost never meows.

Hi well it is perfectly possible for a cat to have kittens several hours even 24 hours in some cases apart. So this may be what is happening here.

Of course there is alwasy the possibility that something may be amiss in side which would require some medical help/assistance from a vet.

If nothing still does happen or even if it does and her meowing continues, I would say that you should definately seek medical attention for her.

However hopefully by the time you read this she will have had the rest of her litter and is back to her old self.

Sometimes having kittens can be quite upsetting for a cat the first time, so the meowing could also be caused by this distress too. In which case just lots of loving care and attention.

best wishes KAte
